Can we help you?
In a few moments, one of our specialists will contact you.
This procedure is usually performed under general anaesthesia (although it can be done with local anaesthesia) and it usually requires 1-2 hours.
The surgery consists of:
– Making an incision in one of these 3 areas:
– Under the areola or nipple
– Under the breast (breast groove)
In the armpit
Introducing the prosthesis through the incision.
As much as possible, the prosthesis will placed behind the muscle.
Checking and suturing the breast symmetry.
After staying in the recovery room, you will be taken to the ward where you will stay for 12 hours or 1 day for recovery. Important postoperative guidelines will be given to you.
If everything went well, you can return to your country once the stitches are removed, and this will take approximately 15 days.
However, if you are able to stay in Spain longer, the ideal time would be three or four weeks to monitor your progress. You should be fully recovered between two and six months.
Aesthetic improvement of the breast appearance.
Check that you have prepared all the personal documentation (credit card, cash, passport, Identity Card…), medical (reports, prescriptions, images…) and travel (confirmation of accommodation booking, travel tickets…).
If you take medication of any kind not related to the surgery, do not forget to take with you the necessary amount for your stay in Spain, as well as the medical prescription that will allow you to travel with it without problems.
Once you are in Spain, you will have to make an appointment with your specialist. During this visit, the doctor will open your medical record (for which you will be asked to provide all your medical documentation), perform a physical examination and tell you if any further tests are needed to confirm the diagnosis.
If it is not necessary and everything is confirmed, your doctor will tell you when you must go to the preoperative study and will confirm the time of admission for the day of your surgery.
If the surgeon has told you to stop taking any medication a few days before the surgery, such as anticoagulants, please do not forget to follow the exact instructions given by the doctor or you will not be able to have the operation!.
After a breast augmentation you will have to wear a compression bandage and a bra for about a month and it is recommended to wait at least that long before sleeping on your side.
Between two and five days after the intervention you will have the drains removed.
You will not be able to drive until after at least a week (this will depend on your progress).
You will not be able to lift weights or overexert yourself or perform exercises that involve chest movement such as running, jumping… and you should avoid impact sports.
You must follow the instructions given by your doctor exactly to start following your normal routine.
Remember that your recovery time will vary depending on your age, your physical condition, your lifestyle habits and your attitude. Keep in mind that your successful recovery also depends on you!
