    Treatment characteristics

    The Da Vinci® Robotic Surgery is the most advanced surgical instrument in terms of surgery, as it puts robotics at the service of the surgeon allowing for exceptional precision.

    With this new technology the surgeon does not operate directly on the patient but through a device called a console from which he controls, by means of a computer, the eight “robotic arms” which are connected to eight ports placed in eight millimetric incisions and into which the surgical instruments are inserted and which allow him to see a 3D image of the patient as well as to visualize the radiological tests carried out previously allowing him to operate in a precise and safe manner.

    The Da Vinci® robot is used in different specialties (Otolaryngology, Urology, General and Digestive Surgery, Gynecology or Thoracic Surgery) and in many different procedures belonging to each of them.

    For example;

    Otolaryngology; used to remove tumors of the tongue, pharynx, or larynx
    Urology; used in cases affecting the prostate due to cancer or benign enlargement of the prostate. Also to treat bladder lithiasis and different pathologies derived from bladder or kidney cancer among other procedures.
    General and Digestive Surgery; used in bariatric surgery, to treat gastric and intestinal cancer,…
    Gynecology; it is used for the removal of fibroids or prolapses among others.
    Thoracic surgery; to perform sympathectomies or pleurectomies among others.

    You may need to stay in Spain between one week and one month for a successful recovery after the operation as recovery time will vary depending on the pathology for which you are treated. However, by means of this technique it is usually reduced considerably.
